Tim Lamont

Identifying, planning, financing and delivering real estate projects is a driving force for Tim Lamont. Tim began his career in property at the Auckland office of Colliers International in 1993 before overseas travel took him to London and a funds management role at Deutsche Bank. On his return to New Zealand in 2000 he worked as a Registered Valuer with Jones Lang LaSalle, before embarking on a Property Finance career with BNZ.

Over 12 years working in Risk, Corporate & Institutional Banking and Property Mezzanine Finance he held multiple director level roles and was responsible for some of the largest and most complex property finance transactions in New Zealand. The establishment of Lamont & Co. provides the next opportunity to continue a strong interest in project finance with ‘hands on’ delivery of property projects. “For us an opportunity starts with an idea and exploring its potential. We then consider the optimum financing structure and manage risk to deliver the project. It’s a disciplined and structured approach we apply to all investments”.

Andrew Lamont

Seeing a project take shape and managing complex teams keeps Andrew Lamont motivated. Starting his career as a property valuer in Wellington in 1993, Andrew absorbed all he could in five years before travelling and gaining further work experience abroad. After spending time in London at Global Asset Management he eventually wound up closer to home, settling in Melbourne in 2001 where he held a variety of senior leadership roles in property funds management.

As National Investment Manager and then Syndicate Fund Manager for Centro Properties Group (which now forms part of Vicinity Centres, Australia), he was responsible for financial management of large scale Australian development projects and had oversight of more than A$5 billion of unlisted property funds. Having returned to Auckland in 2012, it wasn’t long before Andrew saw the opportunity to establish Lamont & Co. with Tim. “Together we look around Auckland and see an emerging international city with huge future potential.”
